Bio: Byers, staring his last season in the eyes, can’t wait to get started. Rookie-of-the-Year last year, Byers hopes to repeat and possibly better his already outstanding performance this year. Leader of the infield (except if the shortstop calls him off), his urge to get on the field shows at all times, especially when he runs on the field to take defense when we’re still up to bat. Jim likes to keep his options open at the plate. He likes to hit singles, doubles, and homeruns. He could hit a triple if he really wanted, but when he reaches third he says to himself, “Go big or go home.” He always makes the easy choice of going home.
