Welcome to the official website of the Penn State Baseball Club. Since its founding in 1996 the club has provided the opportunity for hundreds of Penn State students to play in our fall league and has allowed spring-traveling team members to compete through the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA). The spring-traveling team competes in the NCBA in the North Atlantic Conference-West. The PSBC has won its region and reached the NCBA World Series 12 times, and in their ninth and twelfth trips they finally were able to win it all. In 2013, they beat James Madison University in the championship game to win their first national championship; and in 2018 they beat East Carolina in the national championship game.

If you are interested in trying out for our fall or spring teams, just check the homepage of the website around the appropriate times; additional information regarding the fall league is available under the "Fall League" tab. There will be details regarding the time and location of the tryouts and when different players should report. Our fall league, in which over 150 students participate, has tryouts in the beginning of September, typically after the 1st week of classes. When the league wraps up in late October, we hold an open tryout for the spring team in the Multisport Facility. If you are transferring after the fall semester, contact one of the officers or coaches and we'll arrange a tryout in the beginning of the spring.
In addition to playing baseball throughout the fall and spring semesters, members of the PSBC participate in other activities on campus. In the past, the club has been active in Penn State Homecoming festivities, volunteered at THON, held socials with other student organizations, and organized tailgates and formals with our alumni. In the fall of 2005, the club sponsored a Distinguished Speakers Series lecture by baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr. Many members of the team were able to briefly meet with Ripken, and two members of the club had an opportunity to attend a dinner with the Hall of Famer at the Nittany Lion Inn. In 2011, the PSBC re-founded its THON group and quickly has made its mark in THON's totals. They plan on fundraising every year, typically in conjunction with the Field Hockey Club. In 2013, the organization was awarded its first dancers for their efforts. PSBC Benefitting THON looks to expand even more in the upcoming years.

We also need help in other areas in addition to fall league and spring team members. The club has traditionally been coached by students, and with graduation and jobs taking them out of State College, we're always looking for volunteers to coach or help the team to victory. If you're interested in volunteering or helping out with the club, please contact one of the officials on the Contact Us page. The team is also responsible for fundraising; if you are interested in helping us out please reach out to us via e-mail.
